Access Point Name (APN) is the name of the gateway between a GSM, GPRS, 3G or 4G and the public internet. Every smartphone needs this configured appropriately in order to connect to the internet and enable the user to browse the web. Verizon in the USA, just like any other mobile broadband service provider, has these settings for users on their network. These settings are listed below.
This assumes that you are within coverage and you have an active data plan. If you are experiencing unstable network or poor connectivity on a Samsung device, go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks> Network Operators > Select Automatically to allow your device to automatically select the available network then connect you to the internet. For other Android devices, you will find this under Settings > Wireless & Internet.
