SMARTPHONES IN 2014

2013 was year filled with a number of promising devices. Most companies gave their best technology bundled under one smartphone like Samsung Galaxy s4
and it’s Cousin the Galaxy Note 3.Most of them tried to make a killing in this sector.Some went ahead
to revive old technologies like finger print scanner in HTC One Max and Iphone 5s. Others,infact two,
LG and Samsung, introduced the notably curved display in Galaxy Curve and LG G Flex.

Some companies ,mostly Chinese, chose to keep it low and provided  good hardware at midrange price .
Some of their devices were affordable with some features in flagship devices.
This made it to a sweet spot in most consumers.
Going back a year or two, current midrange devices were super expensive.Few people  could
afford these devices.They were even more expensive than current high end phones.
2014 is expected to be an even more desirable year.Most companies are emerging with surprisingly
amazing specs. Most of these companies are trying to make a name for themselves and consumers are
taking advantage of this.
With the  concluded CES ,companies like Asus have come up with very good smartphones at a low
price, actually prices considered to be lower end . This will benefit most people in emerging countries
as they will be able to access all smartphone features they were not able to utilize effectively with
previous lower end smart phones.
2013 was a year of 1080p screens,snapdragon 600 and later snapdragon 800 processor, 13 megapixel
camera,5 inch screens and other minor improvements.2014 will be more improved and tighter than
2013. We expect devices with 5 inches + displays, snapdragon 805 (notably the emergence of 4k
video streaming),2k displays ,16 megapixel cameras with optical image stabilizer with many more
technologies like the introduction of the old finger print scanner for security purposes.

2014 is the year for all people go smart.Most dirt cheap phones will have specs that are
difficult to ignore.They will come affordably cheap for everyone. High end phones will have newer
and mostly old technology. It is expected to be a good year technologically to the consumers not the
 manufacturers.
