WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most common cross-platform messaging application available and most successful in terms of numbers. Facebook messaging application is also close to this and owned by the same company, Facebook Inc. This has been possible since people can seamlessly communicate with close to zero data charges, pictures, and videos significantly increasing data usage. To continue with the seamless experience while on your computer, WhatsApp introduced a browser-based portal and also a desktop application for windows and Mac if you do not like the browser option.
Here are the steps:
- Visit web.whatsapp.com on a desktop browser or visit Microsoft Store or Mac store and download WhatsApp application. Once you load the app or the browser link, you will be presented with a QR code to scan with your phone to authenticate.
- Go to Whatsapp application on your phone, Launch it, tap on settings menu then go to ‘WhatsApp on the Web‘. Point your phones’s camera to the QR code on your desktop or app.
- Proceed with the setup and enjoy smooth and fluid chatting on your PC.
One downside for this is that you have to keep your phone online to keep chatting on the computer. This is a one-time setup and you won’t be required to repeat the steps above for subsequent use since your browser session on PC will be saved for your next use.
